The new passenger pickup/drop off area sounds like a good idea. Take the elevated trains to a central area where all the shuttle buses are waiting. No more standing by the curb waiting and waiting until the correct bus comes around.

PS:  The Chongqing System is 74 miles long with WALK-THRU 8 car units and disperses the riders  throughout the city reducing congestion at any one point.

A walk thru monorail is better and far less expensive than a people mover.A better plan can be seen at americanwoody.com  (hi tech in wood)Good systems can be seen in South Korea, Japan, China and Dubai.

Good luck pulling your luggage though the turnstiles on Metro rail stations let alone the grief and dirty looks those with luggage get during peak commute hours.

This is a bad design they don't connect passengers to any of the terminals. They still have to walk across a long walkway bridge to get to any of the terminals that is a lot of walking so anyone traveling through LAX you better travel light.
