I was in an physically, mentally and emotionally abusive relationship for the last 2 years. This song has helped me come to terms with the trauma I've experienced and really sums up the emotions I felt for two years. Everytime I start to believe that I deserved that treatment I listen to this song to remind myself how much happier I am now that I am no longer in that traumatic situation even if I don't feel happy. To anyone who has suffered from DV or any type of abuse at the hands of another, I just want to say that I'm so sorry another human being could do something so cruel to you, you are not alone at all and you are not your trauma. You deserve a life full of love and peace and don't ever for a second think otherwise.

This song reminds me of my mother. She treated my and my sister like shit and now is playing the victim after we got out of the house. The describes all of my emotions of how deep down I do miss her but know that it is better that I am away from her. The rock theme at the end really makes me think of my rebellious nature telling me to never reconcile my relationship with her, despite how much I want to. Thank you Billie, for creating such a masterpiece that so many people can relate to. The song is also straight fire btw, like I should have mentioned how amazing it is without the context of my situation
