Based on my time with these cases, I’ve given the Commuter a score of 3.8 Eh’s out of 5, the Symmetry scored 3.3 Eh’s out of 5, and the Strada got a score of 3.7 Eh’s out of 5. My scoring system is based on 17 criteria, and Otterbox cases are larger than the average S7 case which hurts its scores. Some of the cases almost handle like a wet bar of soap which doesn’t help either. If you want to see how these Otterbox cases compare to other Galaxy S7 cases, check out my comparison tool on my website.

Symmetry
For the Otterbox Symmetry, the standout feature is the designs that the Symmetry has. I have a slightly more floral design on my S7 and a graffiti looking one on the S7 Edge. The printed designs don’t scratch off easily which is nice. The Symmetry will add a bit of bulk to the S7 but isn’t as big as the Commuter and Strada. The Symmetry is a very slick case as the S7 will go flying off a table if you’re not careful. The corners of the case are slick as well which means one-handed usage becomes a little more difficult.
The edges of the Symmetry are a little shallower than the Commuter and Strada so getting a screen protector is recommended. The Alpha Glass by Otterbox is a decent choice. The case is ‘drop-rated” and I’m using the quotations because Otterbox doesn’t state that it complies with MilSpec 810G, but rather it’s Otterbox certified.
I had no issues getting to the S7 inside the case. Holding onto the S7 isn’t too bad as the front edges are quite rubbery but the corners as I’ve said earlier, are quite slick.
Otterbox also has a clear back version of the Symmetry and out of the three that they sent me, the clear back was my favourite. I like the design of the S7’s so being able to see it was beautiful, but oddly enough, the clear back is incredibly smooth which makes it handle like a wet bar of soap but felt strangely nice.
Commuter
Surprisingly, the Commuter scores better than the Symmetry. In fact, this is one of the most protective cases for the S7. The Commuter is a larger case and will also slide off a table quickly like the Symmetry, but the corner of the Symmetry isn’t covered by the polycarbonate shell which means it handles a little better.
For protection, the inclusion of a screen protector and port covers makes it one of the tougher cases for the S7. I still have an issue with the loose sides as I feel dust and debris will collect over time so cleaning the S7 and case are recommended.
The functionality of the S7 inside the Commuter is very similar to the Symmetry except that the sides if you grab the polycarbonate part, is quite slippery. The port covers are quite flexible and aren’t annoying to use.
Strada
The final case in this video is the Strada, and this is my favourite case for the S7. It's one of the biggest cases that I’ve reviewed as the only case that’s larger is another folio wallet case, the Tech 21 Evo Wallet.
For protection, the Strada, provides decent clearance for the screen, fits tightly around the S7 so dust/debris will not be an issue and the screen is protected by the folio cover which attaches to the case magnetically. The folio cover won’t be as good as a typical screen protector, but it is better than nothing.
Accessing the S7 in the case isn't an issue and the card slot can hold approx. 2-3 cards or 2 cards and cash. Unlike other wallet cases like the Wallet S and Tech 21 Evo Wallet, the Strada can’t be folded into a kickstand. The last thing I will talk about is the one-handed usage which is sufficient with the case as the folio attaches magnetically on the back as well, but the corner isn’t as grippy as the Commuter, so it doesn’t sit in the palm well.
