I'm with the pilot of the hot air 🎈..
I don't hear if there was permission BEFORE takeoff. But, it he had concealed the parachute like a backpack, he probably didn't notice or think anything of it...
But if he waited until he got high enough (like cloud 9 lol) then tried to jump, the pilot is right, doesn't matter his experience, shit can go wrong there's a first time for everything and the 🎈 business will be sued by family..
