The original Magnum P.I. by Bellisario, had some mission's on top of just being good entertainment. It was really the first TV series that portrayed Vietnam vets in a good light. And second, it portrayed Hawaii as it was back in the 50's, with narrow winding roads through sugar cane fields and secluded beaches. The reboot with all of their wiz bang CGI gurus will never have the look and feel of the original show, nor do they understand Bellisario's formula.

Once I saw him jump from his Ferrari to the helicopter forget it. Is Magnum going to fly in the air and deliver punches and kicks like those old kung fu movies too?

The last two hot some wholes in it now the reboot starts from a very murky beginning. Arleast the classic ‘84 Ferrari 308 is in the mix.

This is like literally putting a bumper sticker on a Ferrari. As a huge Magnum fan, this should not be a reboot. Hollywood really has gotten lazy.

They have Han from Fast and furious as Five -0 in the new Magnum PI, I will check it out.
Justin Lin is the director of the first episode of Magnum PI also. Of course Selleck, Hillerman, Mosely and Mannetti will always be the iconic original cast of Magnum and will always have their place in American pop culture. Hope they get Grace Park as a cameo..;)

Maybe before making the reboot, Justin Lin and the cast should spend a few minutes actually WATCHING THE ORIGINAL. Magnum PI is not Fast and Furious Hawaii, and watching all the car stunts and martial arts combat bs makes me want to puke. I don't care if they want to have a latin star with an Irish name. I'm just not interested in watching another cookie-cutter, stunt-choreographed, military-themed sack of garbage that I can get any night of the week on any channel on the dial.
