Latinos in California who support the Democratic Party often those who live in cities and who belong to organized labor. ( teachers union, state employees) Younger urban Latinos also tend to vote progressive.

On the other hand Latinos in the more suburban and rural areas of California have shifted right and are more conservative. They are often small business owners ( restaurants) who want less government regulation and are for law and order.
