Coming Back To Me by Marty Balin (cover)

"Coming Back To Me" was released in 1967 as part of the Jefferson Airplane's "Surrealistic Pillow" album. This song always seemed so other-worldly to me, not just sad but sort of ethereal. I used a very long-tail reverb from a cathedral on the guitar for this song to try to recreate a little of that other-worldly sound. I also added the sound of a recorder in the background, similar to what Grace Slick played way back, but since the real recorders I used to have are long gone, I used a sample from a keyboard. I also added chord diagrams to the video for those who might be interested. Thanks to those who are listening! - Glenn

Thanks, Glenn. This is excellent. It takes me way back. This was my first Jefferson Airplane album. What a classic. I remember thinking that Marty Balin sang "Today" also until I saw them do it on TV. It was Grace Slick.

Really lovely Glenn. I don't think you could have picked a better guitar!

Wow. Glenn, that was beautiful. You know, I've never heard of Marty Bolin. I am familiar with Marty Robbins, though. Have you done any covers of Marty Robbins pieces? Such as his song, Big Iron? I know you've done a lot of Gordon Lightfoot, and that is very well done. By the way, how are you? I'm doing OK.

Hello Mr Willow
I have been listening to your covers of Gelen Campbells songs and i was suprised to see you didnt cover Galverston. I would thing your voice and guitar style eould suit yhe slower Ballad version of the song as Jimmy Webb had intended the song to be sung. Just in case I strike your interest. I know you would do a great job😊
