Just so everyone knows, the reason why JoJo is still in contact with Abby is because JoJo knew, at the age of 11, that Dance Moms was a job. She was a carefree kid and was often in the outs with the other girls because she and her mom knew Dance Moms was a TV show and it was a stepping stone to become famous. The other girls had really bad experiences with Abby because the ALDC was their school. They went there to learn and put all their effort in it and when it came to an end, it was messy for them too.

JoJo had been trained by her mother about "showbusiness". I'm writing this before people can judge how JoJo is defending Abby. It wasn't personal for JoJo. I'm sure it was traumatic for the other students.

the difference is for jojo, the show was her big break. for the og girls the show kinda interrupted their lives. jojo had a pretty clear separation of what was produced for the show and what was real. the other girls didn't get that, it was their reality since they were like 8.

other girls who came in later weren't the same as jojo however, because to them they saw the team as the best of the best because they won SO much, and why wouldn't you want to train under the best of the best if you could?

She favored Maddie over ALL the other girls. Now that Jojo is the most popular now she's riding Jojo's coat-tail.. I don't blame those girls, it was VERY toxic just from looking at the show! She consistently degraded those children. Including Jojo. No one would want to keep being so open with someone who's hurt them like she has. Forgiveness is not allowance.

Watching the show now made me realize the emotional trauma that the girls have to go through such a young age. It's terrifying to see Abby deny her wrong doings.

Abby expects them to praise her for what she did but doesn’t talk about the times she pressured and traumatized those kids at such a young age jojo knew that show was a job but people like nia or Maddie or chole were there since childhood and they had to deal with that at such a young age. It pays a heavy price being yelled at all your childhood with cameras in your face.

Jojo still talks to Abby because when she joined 'Dance Moms' she knew it was a job. The ogs who Abby says never reach out on the other hand, were only told from 6-13 that they'd be on television and all they had to do was dance. They only knew that it was going to be on TV. They were kids completely new to the industry and at the time knew nothing what the torment of reality shows would bring. Jojo understood that, she was already well known and had been introduced to social media at a young age. Had the girls signed up for the things they'd soon have to go through I am sure they'd stay in touch also. Abby brought nothing but an unhealthy environment to young kids. And ofc Jojo is thankful for the show because she knew what it would/did for her and was fully ready to get more of a fan base from it. The other girls never even wanted that. They wanted to be dancers and grow in dance and Abby wanted a name just like Jojo.
