Project Symphony

Показать описание
Project Symphony is a flagship project under the Western Australian Distributed Energy Resources Roadmap, with 500 households and businesses operating as a virtual power plant in Perth’s Southern River area.
Project Symphony’s Virtual Power Plant offers a glimpse into the future of our power system. It will demonstrate ways to make the most of our household solar, batteries, and appliances like pool pumps and air-conditioners to deliver maximum benefits to customers and the grid.
The two-year pilot will test the ability of distributed energy resources to participate in energy markets alongside traditional power stations, unlocking value for customers and the power system.
Project Symphony is jointly supported by the Western Australian and Australian Governments, with electricity users also contributing through the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO). The McGowan Government has invested $19.3 million and AEMO $7.6 million in the $35.5 million project, which is being delivered in partnership by Energy Policy WA, Western Power, Synergy, and AEMO.
The Australian Government, through the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA), is contributing $8.6 million to Project Symphony.
