Riot have publicly said multiple times that they make more skins for champs that are played more they cant run a business if the skins are bought by like the 5 ornn mains on earth 😂

Ornn doesn't get skins from riot, he goes to hearthhome and forges 1 skin every decade.

Note that champs like Akali and Mf have many very old skins from time's when they was 520-975 rp. Akali for example have 7 below epic skins, there are many champions that have more epic or above skin's then her or Mf

10% of skins to 5% of champions doesn't sound that bad or am I crazy?

There are two exceptions to this, Lux and Ezreal. While they’d probably still be near the top of the list in terms of skin sales, they slightly more skins then they would on sales alone because they’re the “default” champs used to model or flesh out skin lines. They’re meant to be a stand in but often end up getting in the final product anyways. Sort of like how placeholder music in movies often ends up in the final version or with a legally distinct very similar song because the creators get attached during production.

2016 is the year this changed and you can actually see it if you follow the pattern of releases. Now you might be woundering what happened in 2016?

Mecha Kha'Zix stopped being one of the most popular skins and no other monster champion skin ever reached its peak.

This is just like blizzard with overwatch. They’ll make skins mostly for Mercy, Kiriko, and Reinhardt. Tracer use to be in the top but kiriko replaced her. It’s a bit annoying though since other champs/hero’s get overlooked. The difference here is that league will actually shuffle up the list of champs getting skins. While overwatch will give the same hero’s skins back to back. For example they gave Reinhardt a transformer skin, then a world of Warcraft collab and finally his all might skin with the MHA collab. This was all done in the span of 3 months and all three being back to back. Same thing with Kiriko she just got the MHA toga skin and also a battle pass skin. Widowmaker got the wow collab skin and just got her mythic skin. I’d say league is better at the distribution of who gets skins. Compared to what overwatch does.

this is a pretty obvious example of the 80-20 rule. about 20% of skins likely make up about 80% of profit.

Lee sin being in the top's like dudes pretending to be gay to get into girls sleepovers

Considering their popularity in game and the past performances selling skins. It's not really a surprise or some crazy conspiracy. It makes sense.

a lot of it isnt even that they just sell more, because objectively they do, but the point is those champs are just grossly overrepresented by the playerbase and its the cosmetics departments job to give the majority of players what they want

10% to the top 5% doesn't sounds like very bad numbers

Didn't expect a league player suddenly becoming a comrade.

btw this doesn't mean its rigged. you'd even have a distribution like this if you picked the champs randomly to make a skin for
