The struggles of having a kid in NYC

These are some of the negatives of having a baby in NYC. I can’t tell you how many times Luis and I have had to carry Bella’s stroller up multiple flights of stairs in the subway or walk many, many blocks because we can’t carry a car seat around the city with us to take an Uber. Is the MTA going to do anything about this? It is extremely restrictive for not only those with young kids but also people with accessibility issues. This NEEDS to be looked into!

Also, childcare is THOUSANDS a month. It restricts those that don’t have high income from getting any help with their kids. This is another huge issue and now I see why most people leave the city once they have a baby. It is WAY easier living outside of New York with children.

On a more positive note, you can’t beat all of the amazing things to do with kids in the city. I love how Bella is able to interact with people from all different backgrounds. It allows her to learn about different cultures and people and expand her mind. She will be open minded and have access to the best healthcare and schools in the world. I love that about NYC!

The question is, is it worth dealing with the negatives? What do you think?
