Found your channel not long after I was diagnosed with cancer. Cannot overstate how much your channel is helping me during my treatment. Thank you!

A few quick corrections (thank you to those pointing them out): "Felipe" is indeed the correct Spanish pronunciation for Philip II. Also, the Spanish Armada came in 1588 in response to Mary Queen of Scots' 1587 execution, not to put her on the throne. Queen Mary II, the wife of William III was the daughter of James II. William was James' first cousin, both being grandchildren of Charles I.

Turning 10 minutes into 20 with so much extra content. 10/10 learning experience coming from 2 excellent sources.

History matters is one of my favorite history channels and I'm glad you're looking at the longer videos. He covers a ton in quick time so it's nice to watch here as you try to keep up and add more details to his content lol!

I think you are doing a good job focusing on British history. They were our enemy but they evolved into one of our greatest allies during ww2, ww1, Cold War etc. Also during the Middle Eastern conflicts they played a crucial part in helping the United States. Gotta love our neighbor across the sea.

Man, I love watching your channel. You've just got the right voice & knowledge. I tend to drift into my own thoughts when I watch other channels, but not yours. I'm locked in the whole time. Funny.

History Matters has stopped making these 10 minute videos and is now making really interesting videos around history questions, which you never really hear about, but you might have wondered about. they are a bit short to react to, but if you do them like the last one i feel like that would be fine. maybe combine 2 or so with questions that are relevant to each other or belong to the same theme.

personally i like the new shorter videos more from history matters and hope, that you would focus on them more, than the old 10 minute videos. they are fine from a history standpoint, but i just feel like they are trying to cover a whole period and do that very lightly. you could find that stuff everywhere, although history matters manages to deliver that information in an interesting way, i feel like they arent as unique as their newer shorter videos.

History Matters is one of my favorite history channels-
His dry humor and tone of voice fits perfectely with his habbit of not suger-coating how things were (as far as we know)/ unbiased presentation of what has been accepted as historical facts. (And while yes, I know that history is supposed to be taught this way, unfortunately, not every channel covering history does this.)

05:06 Being from Spain, Queen Mary's husband was actually Felipe, pronounced Feh-LEE-pay.
He spoke Castillian and was known in his country as Felipe el Prudente. Mary was his 2nd wife.

I like how you brought up your uncle Sir Francis Drake. At the time of all this, there was also a knight known as Sir Humphery Lee, and from him came Richard Henry Lee, Francis Lightfoot Lee, two of the founding fathers, and also General Robert E Lee, with modern times the late actor Christopher Lee and myself are all directly from Sir Humphery Lee who was a Knight of the English court.
