The Grace of God Upon My Life by Judy Pruett

Here is another ‘worship moment’ that I’m keen to share. It has always been a delight to lead worship with this much-loved classic. In songwriting terms, ‘The grace of God upon my life’ breaks a lot of conventions. It isn’t structured with regular meter or a consistent rhyming scheme; it’s basically two sentences which present a magnificent statement of faith:

The grace of God upon my life
Is not dependent upon me
On what I have done, or deserved
But a gift of mercy from God
Which has been given unto me
Because of His love
His love for me

It is unending, unfailing
Unlimited, unmerited
The grace of God given unto me
It is unending, unfailing
Unlimited, unmerited
The grace of God given unto me
