Very proud to say I finally got my 2003 Impreza WRX STI PPP just over a year ago, I will be taking it to 'Go Japan' on the 24th.

Only the Hawkeye Impreza came with the 2.5 engine. The Bugeye and Blobeye had the more reliable 2 litre in both WRX and STi

Interesting what you’re saying about the Evo 6. I had expected the 7 on the top spot but totally makes sense that you went for the 6 then! Great video!

When I think of the most iconic car for under £20k I think the e46 m3 is probably the most iconic, I love rally cars and most of these do have a shout as well

A clean WRX or Evo is something to behold, beautiful cars in every generation, love the mention of the GT-Four, it is often overlooked!

Out of this selection only some Mitsubishis and some Subarus come for reasonable prices, at least here in the Netherlands. The rest have already been going. Crazy what people ask for a bad GTI, the Celica gt4s have always been rare overhere, as the Corollas as well.

Evo 6 are going nuts in value .. they will be 80 plus sterling cars soon just for a clean one never mind a low mileage one

For this lot it's the Celica GT-Four for me, you just don't see them on the road any more and they're still a great looking car.

I would have a mitsubishi galant vr4 on my list, the 1989 e39a model, done great in the rally and its well under 20k with a lot of bang for buck

I remember 2 years back you could pick a wrx blob up for 2k, now some are selling for 6-7k, even the non turbo models are going up in value like crazy. Some are going for 4k 😮 and sti prices are insane, only problem with the wrx is the 5 speed box 😂

Random rally(ish) fact: The 205 GTi (as far as I can tell) was the only Group B car that regularly ran with more boost than a 308 GTi has. Some of them tested a lot more, but mostly exploded dramatically...

Even as a Pug fanboy though, from this list I'll definitely take the GT-Four, although the the Evo and Scooby are always good choices too. What I really want is a Delta S4, but those cost more than the town I live in.

Most iconic car for under £20k? That's got to be a whole other video...here's a list of just a few that I can find in the inevitable Autotrader-trawling session I just had!
C3 Corvette Stingray
Mk1 Mustang
Willys Jeep
Renault 5 Turbo
VW Beetle (you said most iconic, not actually good 😄)
EP3 Type R
LS400
Mini (an original one)
Fiat X1/9
Mk3 Supra (I still reckon it's the sexiest Supra)
Reliant Regal
C3 Pluriel

I may have gone off the rails towards the end of that list, even the X1/9 and Mk3 Supra aren't that iconic but they're awesome. The Regal and C3 Pluriel are iconic, just not necessarily for the right reasons...

living in London where we now suffer ULEZ, i'm wondering if the 80s hot hatches are now classed as classic cars.
