Just take dollar tree shelf mats and cut them to size and place on top of the riser. It will prevent the indenting. I do this and it works perfectly 👌🏾

I love the video but I want to give a cheaper alternative. At Ikea, they sell a wooden spice rack called the Bekvam for $6.99 and it works perfect as a manga riser and does not dig into the manga.

I use dvd shelves myself. Perfect size for standard sized manga. Larger hard cover like the Gundam Origins hang over a little. Definetly wouldn't work for those Berserk, Blade of The Immortal leatherbound editions.

Honestly, you could knock down those little notches on the bottom of the bins with some patience and a file or put a flat piece of a cardboard across multiple of them to make a perfectly flat surface

calling me out with the build wood shelves at the start??? LOL You dont even have to build them the store cuts them for you! *Cough** Cough* plus cheaper at 8 bucks for 6 risers at custom height!!

now that I defended myself from the slander lol jkjk. These are a nice way to get something going before you upgrade or go another route in the future. Your shelves are looking great man! So much better than before they turned out great!

I just use old ps2 games it rises my manga and adds another nice collection to my shelf 👍

I am not done watching the video yet BUT I have a suggestion you might want to consider in regards to the edge or lip around the bin. I would get a tub of the crap crayons air dry clay and fill those in and scrape the excess off to get a fly surface (kind of like when you measure flour in a cup, you scrape the edge to get the excess off) the crayola air dry clay is inexpensive and it’s light when it dries. I would also as an extra step add some wholes for air circulation before adding the clay to help with drying. I hope I’m clear in explaining my idea? Idk. Just thought I’d leave my thought here just in case anyone wanted to try it or maybe bounce off of each other with different/better ideas.

Just use any empty stromg plastic containers. Simple .I did this donkey years ago with my tea coffee sugar cabinet in the kitchen. Cost me zero as I used empty container which the lid was snapped off and I was going to fling it in recycling but hey had a bright idea and used it as a shelf riser ❤

I used to use egg cartons for my risers I know it sounds weird but it works
