How to find your total eBay Sales on Managed Payments for filing Sales Tax and Income Tax Returns

This video shows where to find your eBay sales reports. You can use these reports to find all the details on your eBay sales, including gross sales amounts and net amounts.

Another thing I discovered is that you can go to the Performance tab in Seller Hub and click on Sales. You can enter time periods up to 90 days and you can do it going back to Jan 1 2020 so you can run 4 of these reports to get the whole year. When I ran the report on the bottom left corner it showed me the total "goverment fees and taxes" collected by eBay. It also showed the net sales not including those taxes. This might be a better place to find your numbers.

Ebay explicitly stated that THEY would be collecting and remitting sales taxes for residents of a number of states. We're in one of those states, and eBay has done the COLLECTION part, but as of today, March 11th, 2021, EBAY HAS NOT REMITTED ONE DIME OF THE SALES TAX THEY COLLECTED. We sell a lot on eBay, and we're finding that more and more eBay sellers are now getting letters from their state taxing bodies informing them that THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY SALES TAX REMITTANCE FOR 2020 AT ALL! Millions of dollars collected by eBay for "sales taxes", but eBay doesn't seem to be keeping their promises regarding actually REMITTING THOSE FUNDS! WHAT'S GOING ON, EBAY? EIGHT (8) CALLS TO THEM NOW, WITH PROMISED "RETURN OUR CALLS" AND NO ONE HAS CALLED US YET! Each rep PROMISES to the "tax department", or the "accounting department", or the "Managed Payments department"" call us - but NO ONE EVER DOES.

Honestly, I now believe eBay NEVER INTENDED to actually REMIT these sales and has simply held the money "collected" for their own use! It is likely now tens or hundreds of millions of dollars!

This is helpful --Can you do one on how to set up your excel? I downloaded it but it's not neat like yours and does not list summary for the year or how many items sold. yours looks like you set it up nicely.

You didn't show the whole process. I'm doing the quarterly sales report to send to the IRS. Do you select orders in the transaction type tab before downloading the report or select payout or select both? It's so confusing and nobody seems to explain the process step by step properly. Why a very simple thing is done in ways to make it so painful???

Hi, I have a question. In order to file sales taxes should I use the gross transaction sum?, it includes orders, refunds, claims and other fees. So should I just filter the orders from the transaction type ans sum all the orders? So I will get the gross sales for the period I need?.

Ebay could easily have totals worked out for us with tax totals, shipping, Gross, Net, Refunds, Cancellations, Fees, Promotion fees

I'm totally new to this but I have sold only a few items on Ebay and Poshmark. I need to figure out how to get the W2 (SP. proper name?) I made $490 something thru Ebay sales. $425 on Poshmark. What do I do to obtain or look up these forms.. I plan on filing my taxes on Friday. Please help.

I'm in oregon with no sales tax. Am I liable for having to collect sales tax for other states? Then dispersing it those states? I don't get it.
