Pamukkale & Hierapolis - Turkey

Pamukkale -An unusual natural and historical site with sparkling white castles like cascades, Pamukkale is one of the most important highlights of Turkey, and it is unique worldwide. The site is known as "Pamukkale" in Turkish, which translates to "cotton castle" in English. This name is fitting because the site offers a magnificent view of dazzling white calcareous castles. These castles are formed by thermal springs filled with limestone, resulting in stunning stalactites, potholes, and cataracts.
Hierapolis - One of the best-preserved necropoles in Anatolia.
The ruins of Hierapolis are the other main attraction when you come to Pamukkale. The city was established in 190 B.C. by Eumenes II, the king of Pergamon. During the 2nd and 3rd centuries, it evolved into a significant Roman thermal bath centre. Hierapolis has such extensive suggested ruins: the city walls, the octagonal Martyrium of St. Philip, the 2nd-century theatre, the Temple of Apollo, the basilica, and the cemetery, which covers two km². It contains some of the best examples of tomb styles; it is one of Anatolia's best-preserved ancient cemeteries.
