In this video, I swap out a Zone 6" Lift for Adjustable Fox Reservoir Shocks on a 2014 Ram 1400!

This is video part 1 of 2, where I remove the existing front coil-over shocks and disassemble the rear to prep for new springs and shocks.

This swap can be done on any Ram 1500 with a 6" lift.. whether Ready lift, Procomp, Rough Country, Zone or anything else.

All of the drop brackets and cross members from your existing lift can be re-used.

The following parts were ordered to complete the swap:

Fox 883-06-073 2.5" Adjustable coil-over shocks.
Fox 980-26-956 2.0" Adjustable rear smooth body shocks.
BDS BDS034653R 5" Rear lift springs
BDS BDS911112 5" Rear lift sway bar links

See part 2 for torque specs and other install information!

Hey I have the same zone lift, 5” rear coils. Already have bilstein 5120 in the rear (decent for now). My question is about the fox front strut set up. How have they held up? Do you still have the ram? And which ones did you buy. I’ve seen 0-2” lift or 4-6” lift options. Are you running zones front strut spacer with these?

Love the lift! I have basically the same truck and I’m leaning towards the zone 6” but not installing the pre spacers essentially making it a 5” with the option for more. Are you running 35s or 37s? Are you still loving the 6” from zone and did you make the mud flaps on the rears?

What’s up man! Recently did the shock swap (2.5s in front and 2.0s for rear) and ran into an issue with droop in the back which led to installing spacers to level the truck out.

That got resolved but now my current issue is the CV boots are making contact with the bottom of the strut when turning which overtime will lead the boots tearing. Do you have any input?

I will be soon replacing the stock UCAs to correct the geometry for the upper ball joint with the upgraded zone UCAs.

when you added the new coils to the rear of the truck did you notice any improvements in ride quality?

I went to fox website and put my year make model etc. and found one that fits 4-6 in lift but the only issue is I see in the description the bottom Mount says eyelet. The bottom of my current shocks and the one in your video are the squared upside down U shape. Just curious if that’s an issue?

Hi just want to make sure the rear shocks part number is right as I'm going to be ordering them and when I search that number they come up as for a chevy...

Saw on your description that if you have a pro comp life kit this set up will work as well...
but just had a question considering we have two different lift kit company’s but I want to do exactly what your doing to your truck considering my ram 1500 is a 2014 as well lol.
But noticed the zone lift didn’t come with a rear block compared to the pro comp. now is that because the zone comes with the 5” strength coil springs so you don’t need that block?
Because I wanna get rid of that block. And I’m all in for buying one from BDS if that’s all it takes to get rid of it lol .
