Monokei Hiro (Brass Bottom) | PP Plate | JWK x Everglide Aqua Kings V3 | Sound Test & Thoughts
Показать описание
Keyboard: Monokei Hiro (Brass Bottom)
Mount: Gasket
Lube: 205g0 w/ 105g0 on springs
Film: Yes; Durock Switch Films (0.15mm)
Springs: 14mm, 62g bottom-out, Single-Stage (Stock)
Thoughts: Okay, after trying the Tangerines and CJs, I must say that this is the smoothest of the smooth. The creme de la creme. The MJ of switch smoothness. How is this even possible? And after lubing, I mean… frictionless? Is that even a word? Yet despite this switch feels, it has an excellent full sound to it. It doesn’t sound plasticky at all despite being a full PC housing. It’s just really mind-boggling how this switch slaps.
It’s fully transparent. Hopefully, the camera picks it up, but it would also be great for RGB boards. The only thing I would say is that these tend towards a deeper pitch, but that’s being somewhat alleviated by the PP plate. Now it sounds like marbles.
Stem wobble is nonexistent. I would break my tweezer trying to do any more than I am now.
Lastly, the price is 75 cents a piece. This is approaching Tealios territory, and that’s not somewhere you want to be at cost. I think it’s a reasonable price on sale because 10% gets you into the 67-cent territory, and that’s more okay, but definitely try to find a deeper discount if you can. In my humble opinion, no switch needs to be that price anymore, especially since the newcomers provide smoother switches with good sounds for cheaper.
Would I keep it in my Hiro? Yea, I would. I think this sounds really great in a foamless board if you don’t want something really obnoxious. It doesn’t sound dead, but it is quieter than other switches. If I wanted to lean in that direction, I could do so comfortably and not regret anything. And if you went for a fully-foamed board, I imagine this would sound very deep if that’s what you’re into. Overall, sound switch, but it needs a lower price. Look for a sale!
