In todays video i talk about roblox officially removing legacy chat in April of 2025, and how it could potentially break some classic games, and even some new ones that use the legacy chat instead of the new chat system... but thankfully they are giving developers 6 months to transfer to the new system bless up oh and they removed other stuff like gears, and the dsa form temporarily ermm

I admit, I am quite mad that they are removing the old chat, but what difference does it make? I thought Roblox made the "new chat" just so its slightly darker and blends in with the menu and such. Can someone PLEASE tell me the difference between the classic, and modern chat?

As a developer, if they remove legacy chat, they will for sure gonna ruin all out of many games, that use legacy chat. I sure hope have a solution tho, by saving the old one, haven't tested that yet, but i will try.

removing an outdated system in favor of a modernized and easier to use system is not certainly a bad thing but what is a bad thing is that it will break old games. another bad thing that is important to mention is lazy developers so the migration shouldnt be catastrophic considering that most modern roblox games already use the new chat system.

edit: what i mean by "easier to use" is that its easier for developers to make custom feature things with the new chat system

If gear gets the axe, oh boy, I'm gonna be angy. I've literally got stuff from back when Builder's Club was a thing (including the midas glove, the Golden Boombox and the laser minigun thingy) and if those get purged, a robux refund ain't gonna cut it. You can't replace memories.
