Hey Chris I've watched your videos every day for a month now and yesterday I solved my first crossword puzzle. I probably couldn't have done it without watching your videos. Keep up the good content, it makes my day.

The video where Coney dogs were discussed extensively was maybe the first one I watched from this series, and it is the only reason I could fill that answer in today. It was a real 'full circle' moment

Funny you mention novas vs novae because NOVAE was a fill on Sunday's Mini.

I also got utterly stuck on Wolf and had inn for the longest time and then gave in and watched this.

I went back and was doing some of the 1993 crosswords and there are definitely of the moment clues there that would be a lot harder to do today. Some such clues are "Socks, e.g." and "L.A. motorist King"

Quite fun today and as a NYT crossword solver of 20 + years I appreciated your intro.

Glad is short for gladiolus, a showy annual in my northern climate. Glads have spear like foliage, similar to the common iris.

I’m Canadian and have never watched CNN but got “Wolf’s den?” easily. This is what unavoidable Twitter immersion in US politics and news does to a brain. The other option I considered was NYC for Dick Wolf (because Law & Order) but that was more of a stretch than Blitzer. “Icepop” felt more of a difficult cultural pull, because where I grew up we called them by the brand name “freezies”.

This was a very punny puzzle which threw me for a loop but I enjoyed this puzzle overall 😃

"Terre de nos aieux" means "Land of our ancestors"...
