I have to agree with a number of replies, your commentary is really funny and also educational, and of course your art is fantastic.Rae Roseborough is spot on with her comment.Thankyou for sharing your skills with us.

this drawing is one of my favourite drawings you've done so far and I like how you didn't try to do all realistic and such and kept it more traditional woodblock looking.

D'awww, fishy. I had a goldfish for a couple of years named Gobi, he was the cutest little thing. It was hard when he passed away a number of years ago. Yes, fish have suction cup mouths; he used to come up to get food from my hand and almost would inhale my fingers, lol.
Fun facts about fish I learned from Gobi:

1) Fish can yawn (and it looks weird because their mouths stretch forward and their eyes "fold out" and then back in during this mouth stretching!)
2) Although fish can't blink, they definitely go to sleep and if you turn the light on during the night they will zoom around their bowl, startled, before calming down again
3) They have a memory of much longer than the myth of 10 or so seconds; they can recognize their owners
4) They have really slippery bodies
5) Fish enjoy scrounging for food in the rocks of their bowl, or rearranging their rocks along the bottoms of their bowls as suits their fancy
6) If you put a plant in their bowl, they may use that as their bed to rest under at night
7) You can tell if a fish is sexually immature by the tinge of black around their fins; this disappears once the fish reaches adulthood
8) Male fish (not just goldfish) can be differentiated from the females sometimes by having whitish spots on their gills

R.I.P. Gobi, and thank you Mark for the Koi drawing! :')

I like to think there's no timelapse, his hand just moves that fast when he's focused.

Another great video, Mark! I love the simplicity of the drawings that doesn't over complicate things so people who are just starting can join in. Some funny jokes and your personality definitely enhances the video quality. I will definitely try this out soon!

I love how it actually turns out as a mix of realism and traditional japanese style. Thanks for the tutorial!

Never commented before but I really wanted to say that I enjoyed hearing your pencil on the paper and other art related sounds (hand on paper etc.)

This is my favourite of yours for a while Mark.  Not only would I totally have this as a Tattoo, but I feel like I could draw it myself.  I'm off to grab my daughter's colouring pencils! :)

This is beautiful. I drew my own Koi and was going to have it done into a tattoo in memory of my Dad who recently passed away. The one I drew just wasn't quite right and after watching this video I have some excellent tips in making it better. Thank you so much. Now I'm going to go look for the Mermaid video you mentioned.. :)
