Alexander’s death is the one of the saddest but also happiest moments in all of the souls-borne games for me.
Alexander was a warrior and wished to be nothing more than that. You end up learning that he gathers up the remains of his fellow warriors that have fallen before him, rather than leaving them behind. By doing so, he allows them to continue on experiencing great adventures vicariously through him.

And in the end, he died doing what he loved. The player knows that he wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.

Every NG+ I do his questline to continue his quest of becoming the best warrior. Everytime in Farum Azula he gets stronger but with each timeline loop I also get stronger. It’s a beautiful rivalry embedded with a brotherly bond forged through the crucible of battle.
