Fairly new machine. I have one of these in the 9kg. The ticking noise can be repaired with a chassis repair kit, when you take off the little bolts for the dampeners underneath the chassis can be cracked, but there is a repair kit for it. Chances are it was sitting on a timber floor and cause excess vibration.

think those funny clock times might be down to "fuzzy logic" where the cycle time adjusts to current performance. Seems a good piece of kit though, good thing you saved it

Ticking is where the cabinet rusts and cracks at the bottom where the shock absorbers connect, it’s a terrible design but it’s repairable by putting a big washer at the bottom where the shock absorbers screw in

My friend has this in a 7kg it was terrible kept getting blocked because I kept sucking things behind the drum trainer socks etc after 14 months it was thrown out because it started leaking and found a hole in the tub just under the detergent chamber worst record for a hotpoint I seen lol.
I had the hotpoint style washer dryer it was good bar in the end it kept getting stuck on final spin for ages 45 mins most of the time trying to re balance constantly no matter what load was in there but would spin fine during rinse and spin just go wrong at final spin so was pot luck if you’re clothes would be spun or not at the end of cycle most of the time it didn’t! So got a new lg turbowash that was just over a year ago and I still love it.

I have one of these, but mines the 9kg. It takes a bit at the beginning to weigh your clothes and work out the time it will take, you’ll see the clock icon. It’s been a great machine and I’ve had it for four years

These models are quite popular its around 4-5 years old maybe - good machine i nearly got one of these instead of the WMFUG942P. and mine is 9kg but doesnt have the steam hygine setting but has the tub clean cycle.
i think its strange it was thrown out - good solid machine and 10kg very nice!
its not vibrating either, its a silent model to..
apart from putting on a 90' wash im not sure what else is wrong if anything. maybe they just didnt like it not sure.
them 15min cycles are so silly i thought the 30min on mine was bad enough but 15mins is pretty nuts lol
great to see you back in the washer mix :D
interesting to see the other hotpoint u got :D
samsung still going strong great to hear

I'm guessing the old owner was having a new kitchen fitted and gone for integrated appliances. Probably couldn't be bothered selling it . Great find.

This cycle took so long because it spent a lot of time trying to balance the load for spins - I think these were the moments you weren't sure what it was doing and the timer seemed stuck. Some machines will try to balance the load once or twice and if they can't, they'll just move onto the next stage without a spin. People either complain about the machines not spinning or taking too long on a quick cycle - you can't win.

At about 17:25 I saw some black bits floating around. If these bits aren't off your rags, then I'd say a good boil wash with bleach is needed - an ideal time to wash all your rags.

I thought you had a motor controller that could control inverter motors?

This is one of the new Hotpoints so it's not that old

Where I live perfectly good appliance are given away on the eco groups or left outside houses all the time. I keep things until they are completely useless but i suppose thats because I'm in my 60's. I've had 2 tumble dryers in my adult life and the current one- a small 'white knight'- is 21 years old and the doir hinge is broken- it still works uf you wedge it on. Mind you the cost of electricity now, I rarely use it and certainly wouldn't replace it

Check the cabinet where the shocks are mounted to. It might be cracked there, causing the ticking noises. Common fault on these machines
