Kerbal Space Program 2 - First Impacts - Early Access Release

Kerbal Space Program 2 is the long awaited sequel to the iconic aerospace engineering game, a rebuild of the core engine with the original assets remastered for the new graphical capabilities. It's due to be released into Early access at the end of the week and will have only a subset of the final set of features, it's not clear how long this early access process will be.

In early February I was invited to an exclusive early access event to play a version of the game, the costs of this were largely covered by the publisher, Private Division.

The fact that you used your OG intro and outro made me smile Scott. Please use them on future KSP videos :))

The OG intro music and the idea of a second Interstellar Quest series that actually goes Interstellar is why I'm excited for this game

Very surreal that we're so far along in this timeline that your origins need explanations for some viewers. You're still "the KSP guy" to me, always will be. And that's a pedestal that is certainly among the most untoppable.

Started playing KSP 1 when I was in high school, over 11 years ago (0.8.x gang, "save buttons" were the cool new feature!). Now, as a direct result, I'm about to graduate from MIT with a PhD in Aeronautics and Astronautics. Hard to overstate just how much this game means to me. Thanks for covering KSP 2, Scott - fly safe! :)

The KSP team having anyone but Scott voice the official tutorial was a huge missed opportunity

I can't even begin to describe the memories this brings back. I look forward to seeing you dive into this, once Early Access is available.

When KSP1 came out I was 12, just getting into PC gaming and was one of the first games I properly started playing, with the help of Scott's tutorials. 10 years later (last June) I graduated with a first class degree in aerospace engineering. I genuinely don't think I would have taken this route in life had I never picked up the original KSP.

Thank you to the developers for releasing a sequel worthy of the original, and thank you to Scott for giving me the knowledge to enjoy the first game to the level I did. Legend.

Thanks for sharing the gameplay and your insights, Scott. Your Interstellar Quest was a huge inspiration for me both as a player as well as a YouTuber. Can't wait to see what you'll be doing as soon as we can go beyond the Kerbol system.

The release of KSP2 and seeing you cover it is reminding just how much your videos and the game itself influenced me. I think that I very likely would have gone down a different path in my life without them, and looking back now from year 2 of an Aerospace Engineering PhD, I'm grateful for the path you helped send me down. Thanks for all the entertainment and education over the years, and here's to another round of budding space nerds being created!

You were the one who taught me how to play KSP with your tutorials years ago, and I can’t wait to see more KSP content from you. I have about 700 hours in KSP thanks to you, and I’m looking forward to the next 700 hours in KSP 2!

Hi Scott, just wanted to let you know that watching you play this game in highschool inspired me to become an engineer and it changed my life.

My high schoolteacher gave us extra credit if we landed on the different planets and you helped so much. I knew from then on what I wanted to do with my life.

I graduated from undergrad a couple years ago and now work at “new space” company and am pursuing my masters in aerospace engineering. My job is incredible and I’m excited to see the hardware I designed in Space! I just wanted to say thank you for doing this because it really does help people find their passion and pursue their dreams.

It all started for me on reddit years ago, when someone posted a picture with the caption „my greatest achievement in gaming“, showing Jeb Kerman in front of a crashed lander on the mun. I downloaded the game right away and i am hooked since. Your videos helped me since day one and i thank you for that!

I can only imagine how honoured and excited the development team were when all these actual space industries took notice of their little space game :)

When I was in elementary school, watching your Interstellar Quest series was my favorite thing to do. You got me into KSP. Now, I graduated high school last year and KSP2 is coming out in a few days. It’s crazy to think about.

By the way, the original intro and outro brought back some great memories. Can’t wait to watch you dive into another KSP game.

Scott got me in to KSP1, which for all it's beautiful flaws is my personal candidate for Greatest Game of All Time (if it had come out half a decade earlier, it might have changed the progression of my life). I am absolutely here for Scott Manley plays KSP2, and I'll be a day one KSP2 player as well. Cannot wait to see what they all have in store for us.

I, for one, am totally stoked at the thought of Scott Manley KSP videos again. And I love the old school intro/outro. Scott taught me everything I know about orbital dynamics and aerospace!

I was here when this thing was first developed and watching you cover it as it came out as a teen, and now, as an astronomy Undergrad, it'll be an honour to make this journey again. Can't wait!

KSP filled me with so much wonder at a very pivotal time in my life leaving high school. It kept my dreams alive as I failed out of college. Now I work for a certain aerospace company with a very Kerbal attitude, and I have to say, watching your videos Scott, they pushed me on the way there. I'm glad that as I matured on my path to working on real life spacecraft, your videos have matured into extremely detailed and informative aggregations of real life space events. Now this game is coming out, and I can't wait for it all to come full circle together.

The old intro/outro was a nice touch! Been watching since the days of Interstellar quest and Galileo’s Conquest. Excited to see what you come up with in the new game!
