It seems we have all these endless meaningless score reviews. And then something actually happens that alters the outcome, that everyone can see clearly on video was an error, and they can't/won't change it.

Video reviews can only be used to check if it was a goal, point, or no score. There is no practical way they could do a video review to see if a mark should be paid.

The amount of 8 metre kicks freo were getting paid as marks was infuriating

Wow, I actually agree with Kane Cornes? But Lloyd is 100% correct. Our goal kicking let us down. We needed to make the most of the opportunities when we had them, but there were a few too many mistakes.

The stupid part is what they’ve been letting slide so far this year. Players have been abusing umps every game with no repercussions. Having set the standard over 4 rounds they pick _that_ moment to decide to clamp down on it. Ridiculous.

Freo got 6 out of their 9 goals with free kicks. Were all of them legitimate? Some of them were technically correct and some of them were 50 50. When there's a controversial decision late in the game everybody focuses on that rather than the dubious frees during the game Umpires make mistakes and so do players. If we go down the path of reviewing umpire decisions we slow the game down to the point of being unwatchable.

Just a note for touched footy!
If a ball is in a Marking contest and the man in front gets a finger on the ball but umpire doesn’t see it!🤪
Are we going to replay it & go to the video for a week of controversy?
This happens in most Marking contests every game!
So let’s ask this question?
How close to the man marking the ball in a contest is a touched ball, not a touched ball?
Answer:
It’s always a touched ball but umpires pay marks every second of the game deciding who marked the ball missing a millisecond second hand in the contest?
They pay the mark!

10 goals from umpiring last week and umpire goals to get them over the line this week. With Collingwood & Richmond on the slide the AFL marketing department needs to promote someone to keep the sponsors & media advertising departments happy.

Guys I want to say that I am a diehard Eagles fan, but even for me the way the media has treated Freo has been pretty disgusting (and Im not one of these lame “support both Perth teams” guys at all… I have no allegiance with Freo)

The crap they have received in Melbourne media after Justin Longmuir said it was unfair about the lack of 1 spare home game was so over the top. For Port, for their first 10 rounds… 7 are in Adelaide, 3 away

Freo have back to back nightmare games with 2 teams in incredible form in Adelaide… the blue baggers game (which they got their hearts broken) and then playing Port away in Adeliade.

So I think the Dockers have been a good bunch of guys… then they address a legitimate complaint (back to back nightmare games), and then they get called whingers.

My Eagles are playing completely the out of form Tigers next game at home while Dockers play another nightmare and are just told “just shut up and stop complaining”…. So even though they are not my team, it’s not fair and i think there has just been poor form in terms of other fans lack of sympathy for them.

I mean I was secretly chuckling a little bit after the blues-dockers game I’m not gonna lie 😂 (it was a genuine touch though, the umpire got that call wrong), but forgod sake show some empathy for Freo over these 2 weeks.
