The whale oil lamps took my breath away. This is what pisses me off about the new trend to glue glassware together to make sculptures. Some very fine pieces are being destroyed by that trend.

I could have done without all the "bangin'" attempt at tough talk though.

One of the problems with glass for me is that a 300 year old piece can look exactly the same as a piece made today. So if a piece does not have a maker's mark like Bacarat, Lalique, Fenton, etc. I would not be able to tell the difference. And this is after my first hand trip to the Island of Murano in Italy.
There is absolutely so much to learn about it!
