Good video, But unfortunately IELTS is not only language testing test, but it also test other skills which make it more complicated and difficult for all people...

You are a genius sir. You got the right point that we students are facing problems following different strategies of different people. That's why we can't get a score above 6 or 6.5 band.

Hi Chris! Just wanted to say THANK YOU. I got my results today, and I’m glad to say that I took it from band 6 to band 8 overall! With 8, 5 listening, 8, 5 reading, 7, 5 writing and 7 speaking I am honestly impressed myself as I just had A WEEK to prepare, and I only have your videos to thank!

I had only a week to prepare and take my IELTS test. I only followed your videos and got an overall band score of 7. L-7.5, R-7, W-7, S-7. Thanks for your efforts in making these videos. Greatly appreciate them. Maybe I would've gotten a better score if I had more time. Anyway, I'm happy that I could achieve a 7 with the limited time I had to prepare.

Hi Chris! I'm from Latvia. I wanted to thank you for the videos on this channel. They were a tremendous help with my IELTS preparations. I knew my English was sufficient before the test already, but your tips, strategies and advice helped me feel more confident about doing well on the test. Got band 8 and now I can apply for my Master's studies in Denmark. So grateful!

Thank you Chris, I wish I found about you sooner. I got overall 7 on my IELTS Academic, with 7L, 7R, 7S, 7W. Results. My main piece of advice would be to ''FOCUS''. I lost focus at reading, scrobbling through last 10 questions on my reading part, and knowing that I would surely got a higher grade. Thank you.

Note: Please prepare for your IELTS weeks before the real test. I prepared for 3 hours only, and got a overall 7. This would have been higher, please dedicate your time to preparing.

I took the IELTS test 3 times and I managed to improve from 6 to 8.5 in Reading. Between my 2nd and 3rd retake, I went from 7 to 8.5 only in three months just when I did one thing differently: I stopped reading and understanding the whole text. I find it completely misleading and disingenuous to tell people to fully understand everything in the text. You are a native speaker and you have been teaching IELTS for a living, so obviously it seems easy for you. It is really striking to me though how disconnected you are from relating to your students’ struggle.
And why the negativity towards other instructors? For a non-native speaker an 8 is still a progress, and I'm proud of anyone making progress and sharing their journey trying to help! Those instructors’ advice was really helpful for me and I will always be grateful!

Your tips were very useful. You were the only person who advised against memorizing specific words for the writing and speaking parts of the task. I watched only your videos to achieve the score I needed. Keep up the great

So I have my IELTS test in a few days.

2 weeks ago I was practicing with the first example you cited. I obtained high scores with their mock tests. As high as 38 out of 40 questions.

After practicing all of their mock tests I went onto to the IELTS ready member platform and I failed miserably on their practice tests even scoring as low as 10.

Moral lesson, their training platform didn’t exactly prepare me for the exams. I would have failed the IELTS miserably if I had proceeded to write the exams without sourcing for more information.

There’s a lot of materials out there, you the student have to firstly understand the IELTS and then once you understand you should be able to filter through accurate and inaccurate training materials.

Anyways, all the best to everyone!
