The Dallas Mavericks Are Proving EVERYONE WRONG

At the trade deadline about a month ago now, the Dallas Mavericks made a pretty shocking and unforeseen deal involving Kristaps Porzingis. It did not receive a lot of love at the time, with many fans confused to as to why the Mavericks would want to move on from Porzingis for some players who, at the time, were not living up to their contracts. However, a few weeks on from that deal, Dallas has changed the narrative of that trade completely, with Spencer Dinwiddie and Davis Bertans, but more so Dinwiddie, meshing in perfectly to Dallas’s system thus far and making them look like a far more dangerous team than Porzingis had been able to as of late. So, why has it been working? What’s changed in Dallas since this trade that’s making the Mavs a scary squad to come up against? And will it finally bring this team postseason success and elevate them past the first round for the first time since drafting Doncic back in 2018? The most frustrating thing about the playoffs last year is that Mavs blow 20+ point leads with Luka on the bench. We should've put the clipper's away. This year is different tho, I'm looking forward to seeing this team do some damage in the playoffs 🤞

We were fine getting rid of KP, but people wanted a better offer but we didn't realize Dinwiddie would ball out so much

I was so damn happy about this trade cause I felt Spencer Dinwiddie was nice and has proven he can ball as well.. People was so upset about letting KP go but not understanding that he wasn't helping us only playing 50% of the season including the playoffs.. Spencer Dinwiddie has already connected better with Luka better then KP has and he only been there maybe a month Dallas definitely won this trade for sure 💯💯💯

Honestly the difference is our 3point shooting... we won solely bcus of our defense... we couldnt make open 3s!!! Now that doedoe bullock n luka's 3% has returned to their usual numbers, we r winning more convincing... with or without the trade i always knew that we r gonna start winning more consistently once our 3s started falling in

Not only was Porzingis always injured but he was always shooting under 50% cuz he wanted to hack up threes. He didn’t contribute to success even when we were winning with him. Having a 7’3 big man or Center at all that isn’t efficient hurts you more than it helps you.

I like Dallas, in the summer they just need a couple of moves and get the right big man and now they are trully contenders

Bertans isn´t really an asset so far but Dinwiddie is a much better fit to Luka than KP. It´s a shame that KP couldn´t stay healthy because that was one of the reasons why he never really clicked with Luka. They had good stretches but then came an itch
