The Greatest Fireworks Competition on Earth

Held annually since 1985, the Montreal Fireworks Festival is the largest and most prestigious fireworks competition in the world. The world's best pyrotechnic companies, each representing a different country, are invited to present a 30-minute-long pyromusical show, competing for the Gold, Silver and Bronze Jupiter Award, widely considered the Olympics of the pyrotechnic industry. With 6000 fireworks set off during each show and an estimated 3 million spectators each year, the festival has become a staple of Montreal's summer festival season and often leaves onlookers in awe.

OMG! I'm blown away. Dear Montreal, I love you! I've been having a love affair with you since 1967 when I wanted to go to your great Expo but geopolitical reasons prevented it. I almost made it to your Olympic Games in 76. Again, dirty politics kicked me off the team.
