Hi everyone! I'm an American from the Northeast (New England). I want to create a watering hole for people who want to discuss, learn and teach about history through YouTube videos which you guys recommend to me through the comment section or over on Discord. Let's be respectful but, just as importantly, not be afraid to question any and everything about historical records in order to give us the most accurate representation of the history of our species and of our planet!

Not only the south of the US was part of the Spanish imperium. The 80% of the US territory was on some point part of it, so is common to se Spanish names on everything not only in citys and flags with symbols of the Spanish imperium nonadays everywhere. As a native of Avilés (San Agustín de La Florida, the oldest city in the USA, it was founded by a native of Avilés, Pedro Menéndez de Avilés, and was named in honour of the patron saint of our city, Avilés) and as an Asturian, a people of Celtic culture, I can tell you that the reconquest began in Asturian lands. English here. I adore Spain. I have been many times over the years. Only two hours from Heathrow. Been to a lot of the cities who have beautiful architecture. The climate is very dry and not normally humid but very sunny for a lot of the year.
Lovely food, lovely people. Madrid is also a lovely city.

Both sides of Spain are terrific. I mean the Mediterranean coast is full of small hidden beaches (calas), and they are amazing from Andalusia up to Catalonia. And the north is beautiful beyond words, with wild Atlantic beaches, sculpted by the waves. I must say I’m in love with both ends, south and north.

Spain had the biggest military float in the past and we were an Empire back then. France and England were soo mad that nowdays they just ignore it. They just dont want to rememeber that times.. Then USA was borned and well the rest is history. USA is the union of england and france in a "new world". Its like they want to forget that times and they dont teach history properly we are forget.
