The reason most people don’t “personal brand” themselves is because we haven’t defined what a personal brand is- so it’s hard to be consistent with daily posts when you don’t know what you’re posting about.

And there has to be something to back up a “personal brand”- there has to be some evidence that there’s something worth promoting (which is the process of “branding” in the verb sense).

So personal branding is one of those things many get wrong- “I’ll make more money if I brand myself”. No, you won’t.

Personal branding is creating an identity (your skills and personality mainly) and promoting that information through content (like a PR agency of one).

You’ll make more money based on the number of people who know and like you AND believe you’re (highly) competent at something.
