Hi, I came to this channel from the Darkest Dungeon review, and I also have watched your sale vids (Just got Smog Riders, so this Holiday Season should be very interesting!).
Something I noticed in your videos is the lack of music in the background. I find that having a bit of soothing music helps key me in when I am watching videos like these. Keep on with your content either way! I figured worst case giving my 2 cents feeds the algorithm. Thanks for assisting my starting steps into the hobby!

Heroscape was an odd campaign that didn't really look at it's original customers which had a cheap buy in, no painting required.
The fact it's on Haslabs also massively holds it back. The insistence on keeping it in house like that reduces who can back and who will find it.
They really made a dog's breakfast of the campaign from the start. It should have been a success, instead it will fail.

I'm all in on Thinning Veil. I have many Dungeon Crawlers but I took the time to watch the videos and read some rules and updates, and it really is a unique and intuitive system. I really hope it gets funded as I'm sure it will turn out to be a true gem. Obviously not everyone will watch gameplay videos or read into things though. I have to give big props to the designer who responds to everyone's' comments and is obviously super passionate about it, which almost always turns into the best games. Hope it gets funded!

I really hope Heroscape funds, Avalon Hill did a great job hiring the original designer and prominent fan designers and the new unit abilities and minis look amazing. Just think Hasbro let Avalon Hill down a bit without different pledge levels, high backer count and no worldwide shipping

HeroScape had potential, but they took away part of what made the original game so popular (pre-painted minis, even if they weren't amazing quality) and then jacked the price up to a point that no one could afford it. Nostalgia is great and all, but it doesn't excuse $250 starter sets. Had they started out small and worked up to a giant collectors set, they would have done much better. You can't just try to bring back a massive game from 20+ years ago with no options other than a massive, overpriced pack and expect it to succeed.

I'm so glad the Wander sequel LaCluck's Revenge has eeked over it's funding line (and therefore did not need to get mentioned in your vid ;))

Hi there Michael! Just some extra info on the "foilgate" :)
Firstly, we will reallocate the resources we could had invested into the foil effect to other improvements, like the art upgrades we have been doing post-campaign.
Besides this, during the first week after we announced the social strech goal for the foil effect, the amount of backers that decided to join those was very small (less than 1% of backers) so it was obvious to us that the goal was not going to be achieved because the idea was not well-received. This is why we decided to split the goals into the three social media so at least some backers can get something instead of none of them (which was going to be the case).
And yes, we are aware that negative feedback is the one getting the highest attention in all media, but we could not ignore that there were many comments complaining about the proposal we made, and in the end we have always been responsive to backers feedback.
Last but not least, we will work on those too-dark backgrounds for the tokens :)
Greetings to you all!! :)

Was really hoping Heroscape would make it but it seemed like it was going to fail early on.

One of my favorite games of all time.

Thinning Veil looked interesting, but I was somewhat disappointed that the minis felt so very generic considering the Celtic vibe. They're good looking minis, but I don't think most of them fit the theme. Also disappointed that there wasn't even a single token woman player character.

I love Escape the Dark Castle and am very stoked for The Last of Us! I get why some people won't like the aesthetics, but the black and white actually matches the bleak feel of the game for me.

I just wanted terrain sets for Heroscape. Why do they have to make generic monsters and pack them into an overpriced package and make it a KS? Nobody wants that. HASBRO should make terrain sets. Period

Thanks for covering the thinning veil. I’m backing it to support it. I want to support this passion project and theme with amazing details.

I am too interested in Thinning Veil, but I did not back it yet. And I think my reasons could be akin if not the same of others. spoiler, it is not what you mention - the presentation or the uniqueness of its selling point - I backed similar games, and similar presented and run of the mill games fund all the time. I like the minis and the style, if the game system is something for me I consider it. an actual play video is much more important to me - and the do have these

Firstly, I had quite a few bad experiences with first time founders. Therefore, if they do not excel at presentation and display of professionalism I hesitant. I watched the yt-clips explaining the game, where they are also answering rather quickly to questions and suggestions. I like that. And in fact, the game concept speaks to me, surprisingly as I did not like Village Attacks with the dice-action-system, and I love the miniatures - therefore I would invest in the all-in or nothing, which brings me to...

Secondly, "winter is coming" and while christmas is always a time where readiness to invest in ks projects dwindles and with the rising gas prices I'll have to look out for severe necessary payments which I can not forsee right now. And those 200 GBP might just what I need

And thirdly, after over 200 backed projects I am cautious of the inner and outer hype of cool ks. I changed my behavior to take note of it, observe it, possibly invest a minimal amount to access the pledge manager and possible upgrade there after weeks or even months after the campaign if I still feel like it. Yes, I know, that does not help the campaign to succeed, but I am combating a severe habit of backing out of the mood with a lot regrets afterwards.

And after 6 years and thousands of euro/dollars/pounds and swedisch crowns invested and around a thousand euros apparently gone down the drain I think I earned the right of playing the safe game... after all it is my money. If it funds,

That modular desk didn't have half the innovations I would need to pay the amount of money they wanted.

You know, I'd have backed Heroscape if they'd advertised it at all. It didn't pop up on Haslab for me and I only know about it because of a post mentioning it on Reddit earlier this week. I think I've still got a copy of the original back at my parent's house.

I think this is the time of year when people start realizing that they have holiday costs coming up, and start pulling back from crowdfunding. Not sure if the data backs that up, but it makes sense to me

Glad to see the support for Thinning Veil. I'm backing them because I'd love to see them succeed. I can tell looking at their assets how much time and money they sank into this, and I'm rooting for them. Hopefully they take your feedback to heart and spruce up the page a bit

Agree on the foil cards. I thought they changed their mind too quick. Also was not thrilled with the raffle.

Here to big up The Thinning Veil.

Great game designer, who is actually using Kickstarter to bring a passion of theirs to life - not just like a preorder like so many.

People have such high expectations of campaigns since they're so often launched by big companies. This project is made by several friends who, while have lengthy history in the field, are funding this project themselves because they believe in it and want to try to make a career out of it.

This is what KS is really meant to enable. I get being burned by projects in the past, I've been there. But KS is meant to be to make projects happen that otherwise wouldn't exist - not the 18th version of zombicide lol

Really hyped for the thinning veil. Looks to be a fantastic game. Just need folks to get funding. Definitely looks to be a strong game. And with solo/multiplayer modes, it's gonna be fun either way. Plus the models do look good!!
