The pros and cons of GWAS

What are genome wide association studies (GWAS)? In this video, learn about GWAS and the information we can gain from them but also there current limitations. Using obesity as an example, we will then look at how information from GWAS could be applied to the generation of polygenic risk scores which have potential therapeutic value as predictors and treatment of different genetic conditions.

Very helpful video. I do have one question though. When a paper say something such as "In the case of CACNA1C, the index risk polymorphism for BD (rs1006737) is located in the third intron", is that rs with the numbers the polygenic risk score? Thank you in advance.
