Показать описание
The Walks are a beautiful ornamental landscaped park set within the historic market town of King's Lynn, Norfolk, England. Walking in the 18th Century Town Walks along the tree-lined avenues and amongst the gardens is a truly delightful experience. Join us on our 4K walk.
Sitting in the centre of The Walks is the Red Mount Chapel, built in the 15th century to contain a relic of the Virgin, but was also used by pilgrims on their way to Walsingham.
The Guannock Gate, once part of the town's medieval defences, was demolished and re-erected as an ornamental feature in 1816.
Vancouver Garden, named after the naval officer and explorer Captain George Vancouver, who was born in King's Lynn in 1757, lies just to the east of Guannock Gate, and it features an ornamental bandstand.
Located adjacent to the park is King's Lynn Town’s Football Club ground is known as “The Walks.” “The Linnets” have played here since they were founded in 1881.
