SUMMARY FOR THE TENNIS RACQUETS YONEX EZONE 98 AND YONEX EZONE 100 (2020)

With both versions of these racquets, I found sensations very close to those offered by the previous versions.

Power is always there for the Yonex Ezone 100, interesting for players who do not have an extremely powerful game.
The Yonex Ezone 98 is clearly less powerful than the Yonex EZone 100, even if I had a bit more power compared to the previous version, the racket still gives a reduced power without being extremely hard to play.

Access to top spin is perfectly correct without being excessive, better with the Yonex Ezone 100.

The maneuverability is also very nice with both racquets, but it's better with the Yonex EZone 98.
Good comfort and foregiveness on off-center shots, the EZone 100 will be a bit better in these areas.

I would recommend the Yonex Ezone 100 to players :

- who don't have a very powerful game, so looking for a good amount of easy power,
- who want a racket with a good maneuverability without having an ultra head light racket,
- who want a comfortable and forgiveness racket,
- who want a easy access to top spin,
- who have relatively large swings,
- who have an intermediate or advanced level of play, or even good beginners in a good shape.
It's safer for Beginners to give a look at the Yonex EZone 100L, which is lighter, 285 g.

Concerning the Yonex EZone 98 305 g, I would recommend this racket to players :

- who have a more powerful game, who are looking for a good amount of control, but without looking for an extremely control-oriented racket,
- who want a relatively heavy tennis racket with a good maneuverability, you don't feel the weight of the racquet,
- who want a racquet with an average/a bit small head size that provides control and at the same time a correct comfort, forgiveness and access to top spin,
- who have an intermediate or advanced level of play (don't choose this racquet you're a beginner).
Note that you also have the Yonex ezone 98L, 285 g unstrung, which will also provide a good amount of control, with a lighter racquet.

I have said this before, and I will say it again. Your backhand is a work of art, JP. Pls do coaching videos. People like me want to hit backhands like you. I must say I haven’t seen such a consistent, great looking, fluid backhand like this very often even on the Pro circuit. Please start teaching.

I find this very detailed, unbiased, and professional especially with the comparisons. We're here in Canada cheering for you, even though we're bilingual, really appreciate the English channel. Thank you so much!

Sir can you please make a video of your forehand or teach us your technique of effective groundstrokes ? Out of all the tennis reviewers you have the most efficient and effective strokes !

How would you compare the ezone 100 to the Head 360+ speed Mp? Spin, power, control, feel...which one you prefer?

Nice tks. I have been using pure aero Babolat, 285gms for the last 2yrs and recently shifted to the ezone 98, 305gms. There is huge difference in the 2 rackets. The pure aero gave me great control and feel on the ball on the ground strokes.. Serves and volley control was poor. Ezone is the opposite. Ground stroke control is less and serve control and volleys are better

Great idea to compare these both rackets. Thanks a lot - I will try the Ezone 100 and the Clash 100 to find out which one fits to my game best. Great review (as always) 👍

Best review ever. I would gladly order from team-tennis but they don't ship to Israel :(
Settled on the Ezone 100. More power and forgiveness... Sounds good to me.

Jean! Maybe, same strings and gauge, and 1 pound less for the 98, 2 pounds more with the 100. Brutal, brutal hitting! A joy!

Your reviews are great. Do you do string reviews? I think this is a very under appreciated and very misunderstood aspect of tennis at the recreational level. You could be a big help here. What strings are really worth the price and for what game styles? What are some bargain strings that bring great performance at a great price point? What strings should should players with different play styles look for Ina string and which strings best meet those needs at high, mid, and bargain price levels?
