How to Install the Required APP to take the 2021 AP Exams Online

Hey Everyone! In order to take AP Exams Online this year (2021), all students must install this APP on their digital device that they plan to use for their AP test(s) before taking their test(s). In this video, I go step by step and show you screenshots of what to expect/how to install the APP and then utilize it. I truly hope this is helpful and informative! TY!

Once again, I'm not a "tech expert" just an AP teacher who wants to help his students and now any other student who is trying to install the APP. Here are the "most common" answers to students' tech issues that I've helped over the past week.



If they do NOT help, please reference the link at the bottom of my comment - straight from the CollegeBoard Website on Required setup procedures, feel free to send me an email (I usually respond within 24-48 hours), or feel free to comment here and hopefully if someone else has resolved the same issue, they can help!



The most common issue I've heard recently = the "spinning wheel"/lack of loading in the past week.



1. Depending on when your AP exam is, I say give it 1-2 days. As @Ashley Cardoso said in the comments, the APP is experiencing high traffic at the moment and that may be the issue!
2. Try shutting down & turning back on your computer (simple, but that actually solved it for most of my students who had issues).
3. If not, try uninstalling, reloading and reinstalling the APP (sorry, frustrating to do, but once again this has solved it for some of my students)
4. I've noticed MACs/personal computers, have had a bit more problems than school issued devices (but hang in there because so far, students have ALWAYS figured it out - positive attitude)!
5. Double check your system (website says: Download requires Windows 8 or later and 250 MB of available disk space for one exam, plus an additional 100 MB for each subsequent exam.) - Make sure your computer has enough space
6. Simple one, but check your wifi - try opening/installing the app at school, try opening the app at home or just another wifi.

7. Always double check with your AP teacher - even if they don't know how to solve it, usually schools have a designated IT person or IT teacher who has dealt with the same problem from other students. Even though we are all using the same APP, it may be a little different scenario.
8. Worst case, try to install and run it on a different computer. Sorry about that!

hi sir i need help, I have a school chromebook. I have not downloaded the app yet, but when I clicked on the download link you gave, it says that students using school-managed Chromebooks do not need to download the app. but for some reason I could not find the app in my computer. test is in 3 days I need help ASAP thx

So the demo is only about 5 minutes long? And how long is the practice exam? I believe it was about an hour to an hour and a half long. Also, can you take them more than once? I would appreciate it if you could clarify that.
