At 20:38, there IS a disagreement, but it's not mental or political: it's the failure of white people to hear, listen, take in and serve as an alchemical chamber for the justifiable rage of black people who have been enslaved, false-freed, redlined, gaslighted, and even de-humanized (and treated so), and so on. That rage spills out in all kinds of ways, and Marianne there is this question of how the healnig happens. We cannot gloss over the need for that rage and resentment to become conscious, and healed.

56:00 oof! i'm in agreement with the vast majority of what Marianne says, but a demoralized CPS teacher is NOT at all the same as the people she was talking about. public school teachers and social workers have been in the trenches for decades, long before most people even realized these problems existed. i can't imagine saying "toughen up buttercup" to a CPS teacher.
