Upgraded to a 5600x from a r5 2600 for only $75. And until prices are that affordable for AM5/my wallet then I’ll be chilling lol

The biggest reason to move to AM5 in my opinion is for PCIe-5 support, but since there are currently no GPU's that can even max out the PCIE-4 interface, it's not something I am in any hurry to spend money on.

Using 5600x with 4070 super on 3440x1440 resolution. No plans to upgrade until zen 6 (so 2026/2027). To be honest i was using 1060 6gb until about 6 months ago at stanadard 1080p and was totally satisfied with combo.

I'm in that situation. I'm currently stuck on AM4 as I have a 5700X3D and just got a 5080FE. I thought the CPU was a bad pairing at first, but so far in about 5 games I've tested, I'm still getting 99% GPU usage at 1440P and 4K, so it doesn't make sense as I'll have to buy a motherboard, RAM, and CPU, and I'm already GPU bound.

I had a 5600x paired with a 3080 which was perfect. Hit the msrp lotto on a 5080 fe and was bottleknecked pretty significantly. Decided on a 5900xt since I could get it for less than a 5800x3d (at the time). It made a huge difference and kept me from having to upgrade to am5 for at least a couple of years.

My friend has a ryzen 2600 and a 3060 Ti, and he wants to upgrade to AM5, but I'm telling him that buying the 5700X3D would be better and cheaper than buying a whole new AM5 kit with a 7600 for example. He will only have to upgrade or change his RAM to 32GB if it's very necessary. And his 3060 Ti still performs very well in 1080p whereas he has a 1080p 144Hz monitor he doesnt want to change for the moment.

I think it only makes sense to upgrade right when the new socket comes out that way if you need a new CPU for whatever reason in the future you dont have to upgrade the entire motherboard

Yeah, that's what I ended up thinking for myself. Not gonna siwtch to AM5 right now. I'll wait for the next big overhaul in a few years. Well, I might keep the 3070 depending on how the gpu markets is like by then xD.

Upgraded from a i5-6500 to a Ryzen 5 5600, couldn't be happier. Didn't spend that much on the upgrade and my PC feels lightning fast now, compared to before
