Iv Had a terrible experience with those boxes. Cracked cases . Loose rear cover bolts. Bent oil cooler tubes. I do like the fluid being sent with the unit.

I'm a subaru tech, been at it since the beginning of the current cvt usage. The newer ones are good. Subaru doesn't have us rebuild them, but I have done 3 rebuilds due to other techs' damage. They aren't that bad. The STI transmission is the worst

Should of converted to Standard trans. Those engine were pretty good

Friend had a 2017 Patriot..needed a trans. It was quoted over 4 to 5 grand..

I have 20 years in the dealership parts, all transmissions came, using those style boxes. Not weird.

just removed my nissan cvt transmission because it was stallin in gear with no transmission codes and engine ran fine so i took apart the cvt transmission belt was worned down and alot of metal shavings everywhere and just to rebuild it myself in parts cost almost the same as a new transmission so its not worth fixing guys just replace the pos and do your fluid changes mines only failed bc i brought this from a used stealership 😤

The best CVT transmission is one that’s NOT in a car you own!! Stay away from them especially the ones from Nissan & Jeep/Stellantis. Ford/hybrid, Toyota or Honda are the only ones I’m taking any chances on with CVTs!

The CVT for the patriot came from Jatco transmission. Nissan Renault.😊

Where can i find this transmission? I have a 2015 chrysler 200 and my transmission shifts at high rpm and i did some research and turns out thay are 💩 so iam looking for a improved transmission

Ridiculous that a CVT can't be easily rebuilt, considering that it's nothing more than a glorified snowmobile transmission. Planned obsolescence at its finest.
