If the price is the same, buy the 50s Martin. A 20 year old J-45 should only retail for around $1700-$2200 in this market. But which guitar would I want to play every day? 100% the J-45.

I think they’re both great guitars so it depends what i want in sound I think to get some J 45 specially since it’s been played a lot would be a good guitar. I mean the Martin great Its a hard pick I can only pick one I think Gibson. Really depends. I mean I have to play both of them. Hard to pick just based on brand and age.im very curious about the Gibson no pick guard really curious why?was the player a lefty upsidedown maybe? Or something else curious ???

Depends on the sound. Old dont mean better and those are drastically different body sizes
