Minecraft: How to Build a Castle Wall (Minecraft Build Tutorial)

Welcome back to another Minecraft Build Tutorial!
Today i'm going to show you how to build a Castle Wall Minecraft Tutorial.

Today we are back in the docks working on the main city wall that leads outside the city to the lower class housing area. This is a fairly simple build that use's easy to gather materials such as stone bricks, polished andesite, cobblestone wall and spruce planks.

Not only do you have depth of detail on the actual 5 block sections but its also not just a straight line like most of the other wall tutorials! I love it. Especially the half slab trim at the top!

Tutorials are a lot better since the change from normal worlds from flat worlds, and the markings for where the wall would be is also very nice. Nice change.

Thank you for this vid. Once you break it down into a kinda modular, sectioned build it becomes much easier. Easy to adapt it to changes in terrain height as well, if you want to have the platform flow up and down with the terrain rather be flat. All you have to do is step each wall section up or down in height by a block as it climbs or descends the terrain.

In my world; the wall, as shown here, is 4 blocks too tall to match up with the watchtower. It's not possible to create the door into the tower.
Easy fix: (maybe someone finds this useful)
The watchtower, which I build at level 67 (remember part 1 for the docks? "Bring pillar up to 68 ... add andesite 1 down" :D) I extended its base down 2 blocks to level 65. Then I connected the wall, building it on level 65 but made it 2 blocks less tall. So I raised the stone blocks in this tutorial by 9 instead of 11 (at 8:06) to 10 blocks high. Now it matches beautifully.
Incidentally, level 65 is 2 blocks above sea level which seems to be the height of the grasslands in front of the wall in the tutorials. Not 100% sure on that though.
I'll have to make the gate a bit shorter too but that should be easily done.

That's a nice tutorial and a brilliant wall design. I love that you added extra details at the end to spruce it up... just keep in mind that a tall tree (or vines) outside the wall would be a defensive nightmare. 😉
