If only they asked her that BEFORE all of the damn tests lol
Jntu
she trolled them even before knowing what being a troll is.
Midnight
I thought she just got coal for Christmas
RCBackstaber
So it wasn't her that was colorblind, it was the movies.
Bleats_Sinodai
I named my first ever cat pumpkin because she was a solid black kitten, and it was Halloween when we got her.
Sometimes, a kid just has a strange naming sense.

Laugh all you want but you got to admit its a very cute name for a puppy.

Textbook case of why you should never make assumptions, folks. XD
ManxoChu
lol that's hilarious
good reminder that kids have a very limited world of experiences they can draw from, so they might not "make sense" at first
PlushLordOfTheSeas
I figured black stood for Christmas because it's night most of the day. The old movies didn't even register.
zetsumeinaito
I thought it was going to be that coal is black and that bad kids get coal for Christmas

Her poor parents had no idea how colorblindness works. You can still see shades, it's just hard to differentiate *certain* colors (in exceptionally rare cases *any* color).

Honestly Haruka is calling her an idiot, but the real idiots are her parents, you can't be "Black colorblind" (as far as I'm aware). There are 7-9 general different forms of colorblindness and the closest ones to "not being able to see black" would be either Monochromatic (you can't see color shades, you can only see in blacks, whites, and greys) or just being blind. The only other thing close to it would be "Social Color Blindness" with people who try to say, "oh I don't see color/race" which is not what we're talking about at all.
All of this is to say that the publics' perception on colorblindness, for both the general public as well as medical professionals, is not well understood nearly enough. Not trying to bad mouth her parents for being ignorant, I'm trying to bad mouth society for their constant failings (again, lol).
Awsomeman
That is the dumbest $#!+ I have ever heard. It made sense in my case because I can’t differentiate really dark shades from black and colorblindness is in my family. Thankfully once I figure out the patterns for the tests I was fine. I still can’t read yellow text on white paper though.
movespammerguyteamcolors
And that's what Ari's parents get for showing her old black and white movies instead of color movies.
DoctorWhoKage
I was thinking more along the line of my experience here in the north
At some point in early december, it goes from very dark to black and i don't like it
angrydragonslayer
My black cat is named Christmas too in my language ^^

Now that’s I’m an adult I realized majority of parents assume the worst and take action instead of asking questions - my parents thought I had no sense of humor….no I did, I just didn’t know where THEIR sense of humor was…plus I was a moody teenager….
mysticdragonwolf
we now see where she gets it from.
the rest of the family 😂😂😂
kamo
real reason...she gets coal every year ...lol

Kids brains work in strange ways sometimes. But there's a method to their Madness every now and then
