I have one for a few months now still in the box and never got round to putting it together. I must just take it out of the box and let  the iron heat up! then id have no excuse not to build it up. because the saddest thing is I actually need it i have no scope!!!!

12x PP3 9V batteries in parallel would give you what you need, maybe a bark stopper based around a Tayloe Mixer Quadrature Sampling Emitter (QSE) which takes the highest frequency from a bagpipe chanter x4 sent to the Johnson counter based on the 74AC74 will regenerate the chanter signal in quadrature which will control the switching of the 74HC152 configured as a balanced QSE will take the dogs bark and generate the audio quadrature signal which drives the inputs of the 74HC152 which outputs via a centre tapped transformer will output to a speaker via a small amp so if the dog barks a different sound will emanate from the speaker and make the dog more considerate about barking.

The kit I have was a bit older, and had a bit different adjustment procedure. I did find though that for mine, at least, there was an update for the firmware, I soldered on the header so I could hook it to my PC through a serial/USB adapter and downloaded the latest firmware, made a great improvement on the scope for me at least.

Is there a reason why some parts are through hole ? I guess they could built the whole board with SMD parts.

I got this kit from amazon everything went fine till I started doing the voltage tests my input was reading only 3.4v. Running on a 9v battery. What am I doing wrong?

i would use an audio amplifier to test caps, my old cossor scope plays up sometimes.
