This mini-documentary tells the story of Alex Amarelo, an adult with Autism Spectrum Disorder who dreams to be a professional singer/artist. Carina Freitas (MD, MSc, Ph.D.) guides you through this journey and shares scientific knowledge on the relationship between autism, music and medicine. Special guests are Alex Amarelo, Zita Rodrigues (Alex´s mother), Bruno Monterosso (Music teacher) and Sara Teixeira (Music therapist). Elmino Mendonça played several roles in this project: Camera, Editor and Co-Director. Carina Freitas was the Author, Narrator, Translator, Co-Director and Executive Producer, mentored by Dr. Lisa Wong (Co-Director of Arts and Humanities Initiative of Harvard Medical School).
This documentary was the final project of the Media & Medicine Prograduation Course at Harvard Medical School.
