UN urges $2.1bn aid for Yemen crisis

The United Nations has only raised half the money it says it needs to fight the 'world's largest hunger crisis'.

Two years of war have pushed Yemen to the brink of famine, destroyed the health system and blocked imports of crucial food and medicine.

Donors at a conference in Geneva have pledged $1.1bn for aid, but the UN says it needs about $2.1bn.

Yemen is about three times the state of Florida. Civilians are being attacked by militaries, horrible. Each if us chip in a little, we can now help a lot. Saba or Yemen relief and reconstruction is active there now trying to help we can help them help the civilians. Even giving a little can help a lot there today.

The UK is sending humanitarian aid to Yemen and still supplying the weapons that are causing the problem. No doubt the spin doctors can explain the logic behind this.
