That factory Blue is beautiful! Something about El Camino's that put a smile on my face, maybe because I love Trucks and Chevelle's. Nice clean understated build. Great interview too, Chris is pretty sharp. Thank you Currie Garage for another great video

What a cool El Camino!!! Totally dig that it has a big block in it! As was mentioned in the episode, a big block just has a personality that is hard to duplicate with the LS swaps. And this bad boy has plenty of power to lay it down!! Great episode and love that Chris has held onto this ride for 20 years!!👍👍

I own a '68 Elky in Sequoia Green (very few in that factory color) with the factory buckets + "stirrup" shifter. I researched finding an era-correct 396 big block for it. Instead of a $10K+ project, I opted to pull its crappy late-70's 305, re-use some of the parts and install a 1966 327 (era correct). In my mid-60's now, I have other priorities, and that .30-over 327 is definitely no slouch. And my profit margin will be more when this old guy sells it. But Plump's rat motor '71 is nothing short of "Beauty & BEAST"!

What long tube headers did he go with? They look like they're tucked up really nice.

Great job on the car and yes black is boring and always looks dirty, here in Australia a truck is a Mack or a Kenworth you have a car.
