USING THIS METHOD YOU CAN UPGRADE YOUR CONSOLE TO 500GB, 1TB AND 2TB SSDs. 960Gb SSDs will be recognized as 500Gb drive and after installing Xbox OS you have to connect that SSD to your PC and manually extend "User Content" partition to maximum available space. You can use software like Acronis, Mini tool Partition Wizard etc.

This makes the Xbox One X feel how it was designed to run! They should have just included an SSD from the getgo.

This tutorial got straight to the point and stayed there - you can pause and then follow steps, nice and easy. While I was swapping out the 1TB drive for a 2TB SSD I figured it was worth getting the fan out and giving that a clean, which wasn't too difficult. And then much to my surprise, when I put everything back together and reinstalled, all was well! No scripts required. Thank you.

It's been almost two months now and I thought I'd come back to thank you once again for such a clear, to the point tutorial. As a Games Pass user, I'm constantly installing and uninstalling the various games on offer to try and the still hasn't been a single issue.

Hands down one of the best tutorials on YouTube. Worked 100% the first time. I have been wanting to make my main HDD on my XB1X a SSD for a while, and this did it without all the crazy scripts and crazy files. Thank you!

I was in e101 & e106 Loop on my Xbox one x after doing all the steps. New SSD didn’t work... but now it works again! It was a developer / insider build after all. Had to wait for new OSU to come out a few days ago to fix the insider build corrupt files. I Plugged in new OSU1 with flash stick and it updated great. Then I joined insider hub on the console and went to —> settings —> manage devices —> unenroll Xbox one x from developer program —> restart —> reset to factory. Now I’m back to release build with no issues and a new SSD. Woo hoo!

The HDD on my old Xbox One X just died, so thank you for this very easy to follow guide. Now I don't have to buy a new Xbox and it runs much better than before 👍

Thank for the wonderful tutorial. I installed a 500gb ssd and I also applied the cryonaut grizzly. I did not change thermal pads because my xbox one x was quiet already but I saw that 4 of the original pads were half stepping on the chips so I cut the remaining pads and placed it where it was missing. I did this upgrade because after I bought a 2k gaming monitor my xbox was so slow and laggy. Now it is so responsive.. Thank you so much 🙏

For those of you who followed this video and wonder what happened to the Xbox One X processor explosion animation when booting it has to be installed seperately or you can wait for an Xbox update and they install it free when they update. This video was great and made it easy to do. 2013Electronics&Computers you might want to make a video on how to install the Xbox One S and X boot animation for those that want it on their consoles as this procedure does not include it. It is not needed, but some people may want it. For those that do not want to wait on an update:P

Just wanted to say thank you. Your instructions were spot on, and the whole thing was all done, and back up and running again in about half an hour.

I accidentally unplugged my Xbox One X during an update and bricked the hard drive. I had an unused SSD laying around and decided to try this. I had just bought a new screwdriver set a few months ago and it happened to have the right torx head included.

What an upgrade from the old HDD! Little did I know that ruining the old hard drive would allow me to fix the Xbox One X and make it a beast!! Thanks for this video! It took me about an hour to do everything right. So worth it over sending it in for repairs or trading it in for a Series S!

Pretty straightforward just open, clean (if you want) your Xbox, pop the new ssd, apply update and enjoy! I change from a 1tb mechanical to a 2tb ssd and the system runs flawlessly 1.6tb free

My xbox was loading the dashboard so slowly... when I looked for a solution it recommended and hard drive change. Found your video, and I'm here to say this worked wonderfully and sped up my console.
Thanks
