Great tutorial. It opens up so many possibilities in order to make other kinds of animations.

I really love and prefer the animation api over the css since it gives so much control and for me they are easier to implement and they can be dynamic too. For the web I also use the similar library greensock gsap. I have 60fps everywhere. Isn't that great??

I personally don't care about the material design too much.
