If you guys are going to do more submarine-related episodes of Naval Legends, PLEASE do one of the U-505. That boat deserves so much more recognition

The animated recreations were quite nice. I appreciate that they animated the crewman.

Never realise that the Russians used subs during WW2 nor did I know much about their operations. Nice to shed some light on the subject 👍

Great video!!! As an American, have studied US, British, German, and Japanese submarine tactics during WWII since I was a kid. Never got to learn anything, or very little, about the Soviet submarines nor their contributions to the war effort. THANKS!!! for teaching me something about a virtually unknown aspect of the war.

A real legend, scourge of the civilian fishermen and misser of the Bismarck. All hail the mighty Soviet navy, Bane of the Cod.

What the video doesn't mention is that her '14 victories' were 11 Norwegian fishing boats and two small freighters, the sub chaser fight they animated so nicely is disputed as another Russian sub (the much more successful K3) also claims the kill lol.

Also her torps against Tirpitz missed so much that the Germans didn't even notice xD

She does look quite nice and roomy inside though, a luxury compared to many subs.

I don't care what people say about this sub it still did an amazing job there and its still here today to honor those man who never made it back so at least for me its deserves to be a legend in my eyes

Finally! Something in soviet submarines from the 40s! I've learned about american submarines in the Pacific, I've learned if the German u boats, and even found a surprising amount on the few British submarines of the 40s, but never anything on russian submarines, this is really nice to see, thank you!

How did it handle humidity? My Uncle Roy's boat, USS Argonaut S166, Had a problem with this It caused alot of electrical issues or so say the filed patrol reports her final patrol report is overdue. . she was 304 long and built to lay mines, later converted to a troop carrier, carried Marine Raiders to the Makin Island raid. Lost Jan 10 1943.
